Construction began 31 December 2020 on unit 1 at the Zhejiang San’ao Nuclear Power Plant with the first basemat-concrete pour, according to China General Nuclear (

Nuclear Power 2020 in a Nutshell – 5 reactor startups (7 less than scheduled), 6 closures, 5 construction starts. Five reactors entered Long-Term Outage (

), three were restarted after

. Globally, 412 reactors are operating, three less than a year ago. With 51 units under construction, the number remained stable.
