On 19 June 2013 construction at the second unit at the Shin Hanul nuclear power plant in South Korea officially started. The Government gave approval for the project in April 2009 with work beginning on the site for both units in May 2012, with construction formally starting on the first reactor in July 2012. The completion of the two units is
scheduled for 2017 and 2018. The project changed its name in 2013, at the request of the local fishermen, as problems at the plants had
reportedly led to a drop in sales, the project was previously known as Shin Ulchin.
